Art & Pottery Sale

South County Art Association
9 am - 1 pm : Pottery Sale
1 pm - 5 pm : Exhibition & Store

Springtime is when the Kingston Village is in full bloom! The SCAA welcomes the public for our annual ‘Quality Seconds’ Pottery and Art Sale. Also enjoy visiting individual artist studios, artist demos and tours of the SCAA painting, printmaking and pottery class studios. Earthworks, our signature Pottery Exhibit will be open for public viewing that day through 5 pm. The artists represented range from talented hobbyists to seasoned professionals and come from all over the state of RI and beyond.
Plant Sale
Kingston Hill Gardeners @ Fayerweather House

9 am - 1 pm
The Kingston Hill Gardeners will host their annual plant sale in the garden at Fayerweather House. The sale features a variety of hardy perennials that have been cultivated in members’ private gardens, gorgeous geraniums, and succulent planters.  Proceeds from this event provide scholarships for URI Plant Science majors and scholarships for local students to attend South Kingstown Rec environmental camp programs. Free garden-themed children’s activity from 11 to 12.

Yard and Plant Sale
Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd

8 am - 2 pm

Join us for our annual yard and plant sale. Take home treasures old and new.  Housewares, gifts, collectibles, sports equipment, books, collectables, and who-knows-what --- and don't forget plants for the garden. 

Butterfly Garden
Kingston Congregational Church

9 am - 3 pm

In the courtyard, our church school will be spreading the word about butterfly gardens, and handing out rose milkweed seedlings to take home and plant in your own yard. We will have a table with health and lifestyle books for sale, with a special guest appearance from local radio personality, Patricia Raskin, who has interviewed many of the authors of those books on her podcast, The Patricia Raskin Show / Positive Living Radio.  Heather Ross, who works with the homeless in Providence, will also have a table to raise awareness for her program, "Turning Surviving into Thriving".​
Fire Truck Rides
Kingston Fire Department

10 am - 2 pm

Each year, children of all ages look forward to a ride on the big red truck!  Fire Truck rides will be offered across from the library.  (Rides will be canceled if the roads are wet.)
Craft Sale
Fayerweather House
10.00 am - 5.00 pm

The nonprofit Fayerweather Craft Guild of Kingston, Rhode Island, now in its 56th season, offers a unique inventory of gifts for all occasions, handcrafted by 40+ local artisans, for every budget. Our cozy shop, Fayerweather House, is a restored 1820 cottage, built by the Kingston Village blacksmith for his family and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, at 1859 Mooresfield Road (RI-138), just east of the light at Kingstown Road (RI-108), with a parking lot in the rear. 
Join us for a free demonstration:  Learn about materials and methods for making a hypertufa planter, which will be held on the patio at 11:00.

Root Cellar @ Fayerweather House

Root Cellar will celebrate 200 years of American fiddle tunes with a concert on the lawn of Fayerweather House.
Book Sale
Kingston Free Library

9 am - 3 pm

The Friends of the Kingston Free Library will hold a book sale outside on the library lawn. Come and get your summer reading!

Gift Sale & Jail Tour
South County History Center
​10.00 am - 3.00 pm

South County History Center will be displaying their exhibit, Mapping Memories: Wakefield’s Main Street.  This exhibit explores Wakefield's development from a typical New England mill town into an important center of commercial activity, and features newly-discovered photographs, historical maps, and trivia about Wakefield's commercial district.  Come tour the lower cellblock jail. The gift shop will be open so you can pick up a new beach tote celebrating South County.

Historic Church Tour
Kingston Congregational Church

9 am - 2 pm

Local historian Elizabeth McNab will be giving public tours of the historic Kingston Congregational Church building.  The sanctuary was constructed in 1820 and has been a centerpiece of Kingston Village life for two centuries!  Come hear her wonderful stories of the past and ask questions.

​Join us for an historic walking tour of Kingston Village.  Led by long-time Kingston resident, Gil Indeglia, we will explore the houses, buildings, and institutions that make our home a special place. Meet at Tavern Hall at 10.30.

Come visit the historic Elisha Reynolds House, more commonly known as "Tavern Hall", home to Elisha Reynolds, a former speaker of the Rhode Island House of Representatives. During the Revolution, the house was used as a meeting place for the 3rd Kings County Regiment of the Rhode Island militia (known as the Kingston Reds), that was formed in May 1779 under the command of Col. Thomas Potter. On 5 March 1781, Col. Potter served as host of General George Washington and his officers in the house on a final stop on their famed journey to confer with General Rochambeau in Newport, Rhode Island where the two commanding generals possibly planned Rochambeau's mobilization and the decisive Siege of Yorktown.

Carolena’s Bakery from Bonnet Shores is going to be here with breakfast and lunch items throughout the day.  There will be fresh baked pastries, egg cups, stromboli and sweet treats for sale. And, KCC will offer coffee, seltzer and water as well.
South County Jammers
@ Kingston Free Library

10.30 am - 2.30 pm

The South County Jammers play a lively mix of American fiddle tunes on traditional string band instruments. Dedicated to preserving and promoting Old Time music, the group holds a regular session at the South County Museum in Narragansett, where they invite folks who wish to learn this music to join in. Its members have been performing at contra dances, farmers markets, and village fairs around South County for many years.
Maple Syrup Sale
Kingston Syrup @ Kingston Free Library

9 am - 2 pm

Kingston has its own sugar shack for making maple syrup. The Windus family have been boiling down syrup from local trees here in Kingston for 29 years.  Come sample some of the goods and buy a pint or quart to take home.
Quilting Demonstration
Narragansett Bay Quilters' Association @ South County History Center

10 am - 3 pm

The Narragansett Bay Quilters’ Association (NBQA) was organized in 1976 to revive the art of quilting. The organization is located in Rhode Island and has members throughout the New England area. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for the learning and sharing of our mutual passion.  NBQA will sell tickets for their raffle quilt, provide information on the guild's outreach/educational projects, resources for individuals looking to learn to quilt or have commissions, and demonstrations of handwork.
